A simple architecture for using multiple cues in sound separation
The present work concerns a system aimed at enhancing a target talker under varying signal conditions based on the use of several di erent types of information or \cues". Toward this end, an architecture designed to combine separately operating estimators is described and evaluated. The architecture is currently implemented using spatialand periodicitybased enhancement algorithms, and evaluated...
متن کاملWeight Measurements by Using Simple Optical-Fiber Sensors (RESEARCH NOTE)
The use of different optical-fiber sensors for weighing measurements is Abstract described. By using three different mechanical stressing mechanisms, the operation of the fiber-to-fiber transducer systems are tested and the results are presented. Parameters such as sensitivity, hysteresis, resolution, and dynamic range are measured. A comparison of the results has shown that the sensor system m...
متن کاملOptical packet switching with multiple path routing
The performance of packet-switching wavelength routed optical networks critically depends on packet contentions at the intermediate routers. This paper shows through simulations that de ̄ection routing is an eective technique for packet-switching wavelength routed optical networks with irregular meshed topologies. It is shown that multiple path routing (MPR) as the de ̄ection rule mitigates the ...
متن کاملFabrication and Optical Characterization of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared via a Simple Sol-gel Method
In this research zinc oxide (ZnO) nano-crystalline powders were prepared by sol-gel method using zinc acetate. The ZnO nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. The structure of nanoparticles was studied using XRD pattern. The c...
متن کاملLive cell refractometry using microfluidic devices.
Using Hilbert phase microscopy for extracting quantitative phase images, we measured the average refractive index associated with live cells in culture. To decouple the contributions to the phase signal from the cell refractive index and thickness, we confined the cells in microchannels. The results are confirmed by comparison with measurements of spherical cells in suspension.
